I regularly check voting records of senators so imagine my surprise when I saw that they were more liberal than many democrats. They are rated 80 and 75 by the ADA (Americans for Democratic Action) and 12 and 20 by the ACU (American Conservative Union). Just to clarify, Hillary Clinton was rated a 70 by the ADA. Arlen Specter, the third defector, got a 45 from the ADA and a 42 from the ACU. He plans to run as a Democrat in 2010.Sorry to burst the bubble of anyone who thought the republicans still had a chance of getting a say in public policy. | | Kitty Baths:) | | Have you ever given your cats a bath? If so how did it go? We have given my five cats a bath twice. We had a really bad flea problem and when we tried to use flea collars to correct the problem on our cats one got sick and almost died and two others had really bad sores on their necks. I use natural remedies now. I no longer trust chemicals around my animals. But giving our cats a bath was one of the biggest challenges I have ever faced. My husband dressed ourselves up in ACU's and pants. I stood in the bathtub with joy soap and a cup and my husband held our cats. It was hilarious to see them and we only ended up with two scratches. We started with the hardest and biggest cats first and works our ways to the smaller one. I do have to say that if you have more than one cat to bathe that is the way to go. I am quite nervous because he is insisting on writing our own vows. Our wedding was quite hurried because of his impending deployment and we got married on his lunch break. | | just married! | | Well, my fellow mylotters, I just got married today. We did a quick and quiet ceremony at the local magistrates office in Fayetteville, NC and it was such a beautiful day today. I know this sounds silly, but I wore black to my wedding. hehehe! I wore white to my other two weddings, that obviously didn't work out. I am not one for superstitions but I figured hey...lets go with the opposite end of the spectrum and see what happens. He wore his ACU's (military uniform), he had to go back to work LOL. No honeymoon for us! We did stop to get a gyro at a local greek place and he surprised me with a small flower arrangement. Two white roses with a spray of babys breath. He said one rose is for a special lady and the other rose is for a special day. I thought that was so sweet. Well, wish us luck on our new life together! | |
