the civilian image of us military veterans
as a former member of the U.S armed forces, who served overseas i have to speak up for us veterans. i know that i am not the only one who feels this way, but perhaps reluctant to say. i have never been too reluctant to call bull. i resent the image that civilians portray us with just for their own entertainment. civilians watch way to many war movies and cater to the media hype just to get you interested in the war. civilians have NO IDEA what the military is like. they only want to sit back in their comfort zone and watch hype like they are viewing a movie for entertainment. when civilians try to ask me about the war, i tell them to stop watching CNN and go join. but no....the won't cowards they just want to hear horror stories. then they go label you as a crazy post war nut who can go off at any minute. i have heard that we veterans are crazy from so many people that it is really making me upset. the only thing that was hard to make civilian life hard to adjust to was civilians. when i tell them that there were no horror stories to tell them, that i did not have a bad time over there (just long work hours in the hospital)... the look disappointed. like they wanted to see me with...
Thousands protest in Tokyo against U.S. military presence in Japan
Thousands take to the streets in Japan protesting against U.S.military presents in their country and Americans by the millions are protesting against U.S.polices here at home. London folk's are protesting the involvement of their country in Iraq,Blair defends his decision to stand with the United States after September 11,2001 attack which took place on American soil. Two people was hung two day's ago in Iran because they protest against the Iran government. A billion dollars at least has been donated to Haiti and two million people are still starving to death. Dose it seem to you all around the world there is a great deal of unrest in the people?Thousands protest in Tokyo against U.S. military presence in JapanRead more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-1247281/Thousands-protest-Tokyo-U-S-military-presence-Japan.html#ixzz0eAN843lo
U.S. Military Internet security
I've been trying to research (to no avail) what security programs the U.S. military uses for it's computers. Like firewall protection, virus and spyware protection.Does a software company make one specifically for the military? Surely it wouldn't be one like Norton or windows defender. I wanna know cause I figure if it's good enough for the military it's good enough for all of us to use. And surely it's top notch whatever it is, cause they would need to guard their computers from outside attacks more so than the average pc user. Anyone have a clue?
US military deaths in Afghanistan region at 734
Barack Obama's left wing liberals base are pressuring him very hard to with draw from Afghanistan walk away and give it over to the terrorist, the generals want up to 20 thousand more American's sent in to fight this war,who is going to win the left wing liberals or the generals?
Finally defeating the US military
Will some good military strategist please speak up!! Suppose you are the leader of a powerful country and want to start a war with good ol Uncle Sam. He had a powerful navy patrolling every sea and ocean in the world. Plus bases across the world and supported by excellent communications. So any bright ideas to defeat the worlds only super power? Don't just tell me by just nuking them. Tell me how.
Only the US Military would do this
Only the US Military would allow a small life boat with 4 pirates in it and 1 hostage sit and make fools out of them. You’re not telling me there is no way to get this pilot away from these 4 men. Now they are going to sit and watch while another pirate ship comes in and picks up the 4 pirates and the Pilot and take them away.I sure hope the US soil is never invaded. If it is these idiots will “sit and think about it” until the invaders have control of the whole country. Obama won’t even talk about this situation on camera. I think he is just sitting and hoping it will go away. If this is any example of how Obama is planning on running this country we are in deep do do. Now is the time to send a very strong message to this band of pirates that they will think about before they mess with another ship that is sailing under the American Flag.Art g me upset. the only thing that was hard to make civilian life hard to adjust to was civilians. when i tell them that there were no horror stories to tell them, that i did not have a bad time over there (just long work hours in the hospital)... the look disappointed. like they wanted to see me with no...
What are the odds we ever have a U.S. Military draft again?
With President Obama stating that he's going to start pulling troops from Iraq, what are the odds that the U.S. Military will ever re-install the draft. I think they would have to do it if we ever went to war with a country like Russia, China or England. A war with China is not as far fetched as people once thought. What do you guys think?
US Military: Iraqi Lawmaker is Embassy Bomber--What the Heck?
Found this articel on digg.com. What are you thoughts? My first thought is that in an ever changing government, he is not the only one that has ties or was involved in killing US citizens. On the other hand, in an act of good faith, the Iraqi government should ask him to step down.
The Future of US Military Transport
Yesterday, I picked up a copy of the latest issue of Popular Science, and I came across this fascinating article about the future of US military transport. Basically, the US Marine Corps is developing a prototype "space transport" that could get a squad of marines from point A to point B in two hours or less, without having to wait for permission to pass through foreign airspace.Needless to say, if this project can overcome technological and political hurdles, it would change the rules of combat significantly. So my question to you is this:In light of what US forces have done in recent years, is this a step forward, or a step in the wrong direction?THE ARTICLE: SEMPER FLY: MARINES IN SPACE http://www.popsci.com/popsci/aviationspace/f2c1d65a5f59f010vgnvcm1000004eecbccdrcrd.html
Nanci Pelosi treats the U.S. Military like her private jet service
This is the most ridiculous abuse of power I've seen in a while. Apparently Nanci Pelosi has been using the U.S. Military to shuttle around her friends, family, and herself for some time. "In one e-mail, aide Kay King complained to the military that they had not made available any aircraft the House speaker wanted for Memorial Day recess. "It is my understanding there are NO G5s available for the House during the Memorial Day recess. This is totally unacceptable ... The Speaker will want to know where the planes are," King wrote. In another, when told a certain type of aircraft would not be available, King wrote: "This is not good news, and we will have some very disappointed folks, as well as a very upset Speaker." http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/03/10/study-pelosi-repeated-requests-military-aircraft/I knew Pelosi was a nasty, self-centered witch, but I never imagined that our Armed Services were being abused by her in this way. I am disgusted that this went on. Now I just want to know when this started and who knew about it. I'm disgusted with her, her aides, and former President Bush since there is no way in he1l he didn't know about it. Why wasn't...
